C.J. Stroud delivered an impressive performance against the Indianapolis Colts, leading the Houston Texans to a 23-20 victory at NRG Stadium. Stroud completed 25 of 37 passes for 285 yards and one touchdown, outplaying Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, who ended with just 10 completions on 32 attempts for 175 yards and one costly interception. Joe Mixon also contributed significantly with 25 carries, highlighting a 14-yard touchdown run.

The game saw Houston's star receiver, Stefon Diggs, exit in the third quarter due to a non-contact knee injury, after recording five catches for 81 yards. Despite missing key receivers, the Texans maintained their momentum with a 7-yard touchdown pass from Stroud to Tank Dell just before halftime, establishing a lead they held onto.

The Colts missed an opportunity to tie for first in the AFC South, despite a strong performance from Jonathan Taylor, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown upon his return from injury. DeForest Buckner's return to the Colts' defense added pressure, but it wasn’t enough to sway the outcome.

Richardson’s performance included a 69-yard touchdown pass to Josh Downs, his longest to date, but he struggled with accuracy, partly due to Houston's defensive efforts. Despite a brief pause after being sacked, Richardson played through the second half, with a significant 24-yard pass setting up a touchdown by Taylor in the fourth quarter.

Throughout the game, the Texans showcased resilience, maintaining the top position in the division, and securing their fifth win against the Colts in their last six meetings.
